A British character actor whose career began on the stage before notching over 200 screen credits, Jones became best known in his later years for the role of Sandy Thomas on Emmerdale (2005-2018). On the big screen he memorably appeared in films including Accident (1967), The Elephant Man (1980) and And the Ship Sails On (1983).
