A British broadcaster and writer who began his career as a lecturer in botany at Durham University, Bellamy presented more than 400 programmes during his career after being discovered by the BBC in 1967. His credits included Bellamy on Botany (1973) and Bellamy’s Backyard Safari (1981), and he received the Richard Dimbleby Award from BAFTA in 1979.
