A British producer and executive who began his career as a solicitor before joining the BBC in 1974 where he became Head of Copyright, Leventhal joined Channel 4 in 1981 as a founding director. He went on to become director of acquisition and in 1993 set up Channel Four International Limited and Film Four Distributors.
