Coates will be best remembered as producer of the BAFTA winning short The Snowman (1982). A sequel, The Snowman And His Dog (2012) airs this Christmas, with other credits including When The Wind Blows (1986), The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends (1995) and The Wind In The Willows (1995).
