Claude Lanzmann

A French filmmaker and journalist best known for his seminal nine and a half hour Holocaust documentary Shoah (1985), Lanzmann’s meticulous and uncomfortable film won the BAFTA Flaherty Documentary award. He used footage derived from his work on Shoah in other films including A Visitor From The Living (1997) and Sobibor: October 14, 1943: 4pm (2001).
