A British actor whose career was launched after being a member of Cambridge Footlights, Cashmore appeared in a number of classic TV comedy including The Day Today (1994), Fist of Fun (1995-1996) and Brass Eye (1997). He was also a successful playwright and ran for parliament with the Green Party in 2017.
