A British actress known for horror films and was nicknamed the ‘Queen of Hammer’, Shelley’s most iconic role came in Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) where she played a tourist who became one of the undead. Her other notable credits included Village of the Damned (1960), The Gorgon (1964) and Quatermass and the Pit (1967).
