 BIRDMAN

  • A washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero (Birdman) must overcome his ego and family trouble as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory.

BOYHOOD

  • Director: Richard Linklater
  • Starring: Ellar Coltrane, Lorelei Linklater, Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawk.
  • The film was shot intermittently over a 12-year period from May 2002 to October 2013.
  • Ellar Coltrane (Mason) joined the project aged 7 and grew a total of 27 inches during filming. 

 THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL

  • Director: Wes Anderson
  • Starring: Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric
  • The film follows the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous hotel from the fictional Republic of Zubrowka, between the first and second World Wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.

 NIGHTCRAWLER

  • Director: Dan Gilroy
  • Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Bill Paxton
  • When Lou Bloom, a driven man desperate for work, muscles into the world of L.A. crime journalism, he blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story. 
  • Nightcrawler is Dan Gilroy’s directorial debut. 

WHIPLASH

  • Director: Damien Chazelle
  • Starring: Miles Teller, J.K. Simmons, Melissa Benoist
  • A promising young drummer enrols at a cutthroat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential.
