Humaira Iqbal

Humaira Iqbal is a British South Asian Writer-Poet-Actor, originally from East London, U.K, and now based in New York City. Humaira previously trained as an actor at the RCSSD and now is at the prestigious Tisch School of Arts at NYU, where she is pursuing her graduate degree on the Rita & Burton Goldberg department of Dramatic Writing.

Writing allows me to feel alive, to be counting my blessings to share new unknown stories with people. To actively always see new, to allow me to stay open to the world around me. To actively use my senses, to see, to listen, to smell, to touch and taste, to help me write something raw for the screen/stage. To be active, too actively keep striving to make a change, to create happiness and never stop observing and producing work with meaning, to give a voice to people who may never be given a voice.

Humaira hopes to make an impactful change for the unknown universal voices and build on creating more representation on screen.
