Declan James McLeish

Declan is a composer, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Paisley, Scotland. After graduating high school he worked in many different aspects of the music industry from teaching, to musical directing and live events. Declan spent 3 years working with different musical theater productions before shifting to composition for media. To date his most popular works include performance, but he is fast becoming an in demand musician for independent film and television directors.

Receiving this scholarship from the BAFTA's is still hard to believe! To have so much support from an amazing organisation and team makes my journey so much easier. Becoming a BAFTA scholar is allowing me to get more involved in the industry and helping me get one step closer to where I want to be.

He is currently working on two short films and one feature length action movie. Declan graduated from the University of the West of Scotland in 2021 with his Bachelors in Commercial Sound Production. He currently attends The San Francisco Conservatory of Music for his Masters in Music Technology and Applied Composition.
