Muriel Naim is an award winning Israeli-Iranian Director & Writer of film, TV & theatre. Her films screened in 60+ international festivals & cinematheques and premiered at REDCAT, TIFF and CBFF. Her recent film Janek/Bastard earned several international awards, including Best Directing at the Bali International, Women in Horror and Lindsay film festivals; Audience Awards at HollyShorts and PJFF, and Best International Film in CBFF & Catalina Island Film Festival. A CalArts FDP & AFI MFA Film Directing alumna, she was mentored by Oscar-winning Director Asghar Farhadi and awarded the Irwin & Sheila Allen Scholarship for excellence. Muriel is currently writing a feature film based on Ka-Tsetnik's Sunrise Over Hell, developing an original TV series for HBO and collaborating with BSEG on a limited series for Amazon Studios. Her films delve into the cores of the human condition, exploring emotion & transgression through visceral storytelling, and provoke the classical narrative structure.
