Faizan Kareem (Writer/Actor) is a multi-disciplinary artist with over a decade of experience in both, the Indian and American film industries. He has co-written, directed and acted in a Hindi language feature film apart from several short films.
His short film Knowing of Ali, focused on an Islamic militant who goes through a change of heart after a chance encounter with a child. Similarly, his acclaimed short ‘Sabka Malik Ek’ focused on religious discrimination in the Indian socio-political climate. His feature script Astray based on the relationship between an American Muslim father and his transgender child, was declared the grand prize winner of the 2021 BlueCat Screenplay Competition, made it as a two time semi-finalist in The Academy Nicholl Fellowship (2021, 2022) and was recently selected as a part of the Muslim List 2022 (Blacklist). In October 2021, Kareem was selected as a newcomer for the BAFTA Newcomers Program.
