Cheyenne Ford | Production Designer

Cheyenne Ford | Production Designer

Cheyenne was inspired to work in the art department when she spied some people dumpster diving for props on a low budget shoot in her native New Orleans. After working as an Art PA on a YouTube prank series, Cheyenne moved to New York and her career began to take off. She soon found herself working as set decorator and prop master on major shows, while serving as Production Designer on indie features, developing her skills as an artist and designer along the way.

Her Breakthrough project almost didn’t happen for her. She initially reluctantly declined the role of Production Designer on Emma Seligman’s sleeper hit ‘Shiva Baby’ because she had committed to an architectural workshop in Paris, but was rehired on day three of filming when their first Production Designer had to back out. A consummate problem solver, Cheyenne hit the ground running and worked to create a convincing backdrop for a Shiva, including sourcing accurate Jewish food from the dollar store.

Some of Cheyenne’s Art Department heroes include Dennis Gassner, Peter Francis and Nathan Crowley.  As a Breakthrough, Cheyenne is looking forward to engaging with and learning from mentors, and shining a light on the stunning work done by her colleagues and collaborators
