Aiman Mimiko

SCREENWRITER

SECOND YEAR - NEW YORK

Aiman Mimiko is a Nigerian writer/director whose work centers on African and Muslim perspectives, and the challenge of self-identity in a world where no one can pronounce your name right on the first try.

His pilot Casual Patricide was a 2022 semifinalist for Fox's Writer's Incubator, Almanack Screenwriter's Episodic Lab, and Humanitas' College Comedy Award. In 2021 he participated in MPAC Hollywood's Black Muslim TV Writers' Lab with his teleplay, House Call.

Most recently, Aiman's feature, Quarters, was part of ISF's Inaugural Muslim Writer's Lab (with support from Extracurricular and the Blacklist).

Aiman holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University. He's currently based in Los Angeles (but really misses the MTA).
