On Saturday, April 23, 2011, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles celebrated the 100th Birthday of Ronald Neame, CBE at the Directors Guild of America.

As one of the founding members of BAFTA in 1947, and long-serving Governor of BAFTA Los Angeles, members were delighted to celebrate the life of this extraordinary filmmaker and admirable man.

Guest speakers included friends and colleagues such as William Friedkin, Ernest Borgnine, Anne Coates, John Landis, grandson Gareth Neame and wife Donna Neame. The evening also included a special screening of the Stephen Fry-narrated documentary Ronald Neame: A Life In Film and a special Birthday toast from BAFTA Los Angeles co-founder, Marion Rosenberg.
