An American animator, director and writer, who won a BAFTA and an Oscar for co-directing Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (2022). Mark Gustafson’s specialty was stop motion, in particular Claymation, having started his career at the Will Vinton Studios working on such Emmy-winning titles as Claymation Christmas Celebration (1987) and Claymation Easter (1992). He also worked on The Adventures of Mark Twain (1985), Return to Oz (1985) and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011), and was the animation director of Fantastic Mr Fox (2009).
