Laurie Johnson MBE

A British composer, who created music for both film and television. Among Laurie Johnson’s compositions were the title themes to Animal Magic (1962-1984), The Avengers (1965-1969), This is Your Life (1969-2000), Jason King (1971-1972) and The Professionals (1976-1983). His notable film credits included Tiger Bay (1959), Spare the Rod (1961), Dr. Strangelove (1964), Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1974), Hedda (1975) and It Shouldn’t Happen to a Vet (1976). He was also co-owner of Gainsborough Pictures. Johnson was appointed an MBE in 2014.
