A British television executive, who was an influential figure in shaping children’s television, first as a producer on the likes of Tweenies (1999-2001) and then as head of production and controller of BBC pre-school channel CBeebies. Kay Benbow was a named BAFTA nominee twice, for Get Your Own Back in 1999 and Something Special in 2005, while CBeebies won the BAFTA Children’s Awards’ Channel of the Year category five times under her tenure as controller (2010-2017). She would later go on to work as a freelance consultant for various children’s shows broadcast on CBeebies and Milkshake!.
