Dyson Lovell

Producer, Actor, Casting Director

A British producer, actor and casting director, who entered the industry as an actor in the 1960s before moving into producing in the 1970s. Dyson Lovell notably appeared in the BBC’s Vanity Fair (1967) mini-series adaptation and Franco Zeffirelli’s film version of Romeo and Juliet (1968), before producing such works as Jesus of Nazareth (1977), The Cotton Club (1984), Jane Eyre (1986), Hamlet (1990) and A Christmas Carol (1999). He was Emmy-nominated five times, for Lonesome Dove (1989), The Odyssey (1997), Merlin (1998), Arabian Nights (2000) and The Lion in Winter (2003). Lovell cast many of his own productions, as well as for others, including the acclaimed Agatha Christie film adaptations of the 1970s-1980s.
