Diana Edwards-Jones OBE

A British current affairs/news director, who was instrumental in making the ITN such a success through its News at Ten service. Diana Edward-Jones served as News at Ten’s director, the UK’s first half-hour daily news show, from its very beginning in 1967 through to her retirement in 1989. She began her screen career at ITV in 1955 as a floor manager before moving into directing in 1961, adding news specials to her regular News at Ten work. The programme won two BAFTAs during her time, a Special Award in 1969 and Factual: Current Affairs in 1970.
