Welsh stars Dame Siân Phillips, Luke Evans, and Sir Jonathan Pryce CBE to present at BAFTA Cymru Awards 2023

BAFTA in Wales today shares details of nominees, presenters, and special guests that will attend this Sunday's BAFTA Cymru Awards, hosted by Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones at the International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) in Newport on Sunday, October 15.

Welsh-born stage veteran Dame Siân Phillips (who celebrated her 90th birthday this year), actor and singer Luke Evans, and actor Sir Jonathan Pryce CBE, actress, writer, author and artist Katy Wix, this year’s Siân Phillips Special Award recipient Rakie Ayola, award-winning screenwriter and television producer Russell T Davies and Good Morning Britain’s Sean Fletcher are all expected to join in the evening’s celebration of excellence across the screen industries in Wales.

Joining them on the evening will be Alexandria Riley, Annabel Scholey, S4C presenter Elin Fflur, Gabrielle Creevy, Huw Novelli, comedian, actress and writer Jayde Adams, Jo Hartley, Lily Beau, Louise Brealey, Mark Lewis Jones, Neet Mohan, BBC Radio 2 presenter Owain Wyn Evans, Sophie Melville and Steffan Cennydd, along with BBC Cymru Wales Director, Rhuanedd Richards who will be presenting this year’s Outstanding Contribution Award.  

Live on the evening, Ffion Emyr will perform producer Branwen Munn’s brand-new arrangement of 'Anfonaf Angel', a song composed by Robat Arwyn with words by this year's Outstanding Contribution recipient, Hywel Gwynfryn.

It will also be amazing to see industry giants share the stage with new upcoming talent, and we can’t wait to see you all and celebrate with you on the night.”

For the 2023 edition, the ceremony will be held for the first time at the ICCW in Newport, with audiences at home able to follow the action as it unfolds on BAFTA’s YouTube.
