A British actor, who notched up almost 150 screen credits. Although his television career began in the early 1960s, it was during the next two decades that he came to prominence with notable roles in Crown Court (1973-1976), Nicholas Nickleby (1977), The Dick Emery Show (1975-1981), Secret Army (1977-1979), Sink or Swim (1980-1981) and High Street Blues (1989). His films included Oh! What a Lovely War (1969), The Land that Time Forgot (1974), Aces High (1976), Murder by Decree (1979) and Personal Services (1987). He also co-wrote and composed for the stage the musical Jack the Ripper in 1974.
