Len Goodman

Broadcaster, Ballroom Dancer
25 April 1944 to 22 April 2023

A British professional ballroom dancer, who found fame with UK and US television audiences as the head judge on the multiple BAFTA-winning Strictly Come Dancing (2004-2016) and the US equivalent, Dancing with the Stars (2005-2022). Len Goodman was a hugely successful ballroom dancer before his television career took off, winning various professional championships, including the Duel of the Giants competition in 1973 and 1975. He also opened his own school, the Goodman Dance Academy, in 1973. While dance was his forte – and he presented several other television shows related to the art form – he also fronted other series, including the three-part documentary Titanic with Len Goodman (2012), travel series Holiday of My Lifetime (2014) and quiz show Partners in Rhyme (2017).
