Lelia Goldoni

An American actress, who was nominated twice for a BAFTA – for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Roles in 1961 for debut film Shadows (1958) and then again for Supporting Actress in 1976 for Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (1974). Shadows director John Cassavetes then cast her in his television series Johnny Staccato (1959), and so Lelia Goldoni moved to the UK for several years, featuring in various British films and television series, including Hysteria, Court Martial (both 1965), Theatre of Death (1967), The Wednesday Play’s ‘The Exiles’ (1969) and The Italian Job (1969). Returning to the US, she appeared in the films The Day of the Locust (1975), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and The Unseen (1980), and episodes of Knots Landing (1983), L.A. Law (1990), among her 60-plus credits.
