A British actor, who was BAFTA nominated twice, for his roles in the film White Mischief (1987) and television feature First and Last (1989). Among Joss Ackland’s other 200-plus screen credits were the films A Zed & Two Noughts (1985), Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) and Surviving Picasso (1996); and for television, Z Cars (1964-1968), David Copperfield (1966), The Further Adventures of the Musketeers (1967), Great Expectations (1974), The Crezz (1976) and Hogfather (2006). He was appointed CBE in 2001.
