A British producer, who won three BAFTAs for her work on long-running legal drama Rumpole of the Bailey (1978-1992) in 1980, 1984 and 1989 respectively, sharing the last one with Rumpole creator and long-time collaborator John Mortimer. She added a fourth BAFTA in 1987 for Paradise Postponed (1986), shared with Alvin Rakoff. Previously, she had produced more than 100 episodes of day-time dramas Harriet’s Back in Town (1972-1973) and Rooms (1974-1977). Davis and Mortimer set up their own production company in 1989, New Penny Productions, through which they made Titmuss Regained (1991) and Under the Hammer (1994). She retired in 1995.
