A British actor, who is perhaps best known for playing Rev Timothy Farthing in Dad’s Army (1969-1977). Although making his small screen debut in 1952, it was in comedy series The Army Game (1957-1960) that he became a regular face on British television. Other notable roles followed, including Vanity Fair (1987) and You Rang, My Lord? (1990-1993), with various guest spots in numerous series over the following decades. In film, he appeared in The VIPs (1963), Robbery (1967) and The Human Factor (1979).
