A British actor best known for his role as the affable doorman Edward Barnes in Upstairs Downstairs (1971-1975), Beeny later found comedic success opposite Thora Hird in the funeral parlour sitcom In Loving Memory (1979-1986). His other notable credits included The Grove Family (1954-1957) and Miss Jones and Son (1977-1978).
