Ziyuan (Leomax) He, who was born in Yunnan, China, received his bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Arts. After years of working in China, He moved to Los Angeles, where he is currently a Film Directing MFA candidate at CalArts. Leomax is an alumnus of Nespresso Talents 2021 and a recipient of 2022 Sundance Institute Asian American COLLAB Scholarship.

Ziyuan has made various short films in the past with the theme of escapism and tiny miracles in life. Leomax is developing his first feature, a personal story that blurs the border between reality and fiction. He wants to make narratives that have a sober intoxication.
