THIRD YEAR – LOS ANGELES

Thais Drassinower is a Peruvian filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University and focuses on bringing honest representation through female-driven stories on the big screen.

Her first short “Memories of The Sea" was an official selection at various international film festivals including Palm Springs Shortfest and Aspen Shortsfest. It was acquired by KQED and is currently part of their "Film School Shorts" series. Her second short "Baby" had its World Premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival and was a semifinalist for the 45th Student Academy Awards. Her third short "The Catch" won the Peruvian Ministry of Culture National Award and was nominated for "Best Student Short" at Tribeca Film Festival.

Thais is currently developing her first feature-length film which just received the Peruvian Ministry of Culture Film Development Funds Award.
