Theo Forrest | BAFTA Tinopolis Scholarship

Theo Forrest, a writer from Pembrokeshire, is awarded the BAFTA Tinopolis Scholarship to support an MA in Screenwriting at University of the Arts London. Theo is mentored by Matthew Barry.

Being supported in this early stage of my career is incredible and I’m so honoured to be chosen as a recipient. The scholarship not only provides funding that allows me to be entirely dedicated to my degree without financial stress, but also priceless access to a mentor.

Growing up, Theo discovered his love for storytelling and its ability to transport audiences into new worlds and different viewpoints. With his desire to tell stories on the screen, Theo embarked upon his Television degree at Falmouth University where he developed his screenwriting and had the honour of having his short film scripts produced by fellow students. He will continue to hone his craft while undertaking a master’s degree at UAL.

Theo said: “Receiving the Tinopolis scholarship is completely surreal. Being supported in this early stage of my career is incredible and I’m so honoured to be chosen as a recipient. The scholarship not only provides funding that allows me to be entirely dedicated to my degree without financial stress, but also priceless access to a mentor. Having a connection to someone who can help answer questions and guide me is invaluable and gives me the confidence to take the next steps in my career. I will forever be grateful for this life changing scholarship.”
