Emily Robin Boreham | BAFTA Prince William Scholarship

Emily Robin Boreham, 26, from Devon, is a freelance writer and aspiring screenwriter. She has been awarded £12,000 to support her MA in Screenwriting at NFTS. Emily Robin is being mentored by Kevin Cecil.

Winning the Prince William scholarship truly feels as though the impossible has been made possible for me

In 2018, she graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a degree in Digital Film and Television Production. Whilst there, she wrote her first full length feature script and her graduation film, Incoming Tide, won a student Royal Television Society award for best writing. She currently lives in Devon and is looking forward to taking up her place at NFTS.

Emily Robin said: "In many ways, BAFTA’s support for my career began long before my scholarship application. Having been inspired by their online content for years, the Guru series was instrumental in developing me as a young writer. When I first received my offer from NFTS, studying for a masters felt like a distant dream, held back by both financial and personal hurdles. Winning the Prince William scholarship truly feels as though the impossible has been made possible for me. Beyond the financial aid, I’m proud to be supported by an organisation which is so committed to encouraging new talent and supporting equality across all areas of the industry, something that I’m personally passionate about."

Emily Robin is receiving a Prince William Scholarship in Film, Games and Television, supported by BAFTA and Warner Bros.
