Keelin Rose MacGregor | Prince William Scholarship

Keelin is from Chalfont St. Peter in Buckinghamshire. She is awarded the Prince William Scholarship to put towards living expenses whilst studying for a BA in Game Art and Design at University of Hertfordshire.

The financial help is life changing but I am also incredibly excited about the mentorship. The help and constructive criticism I will receive will improve my work so much.

Keelin has been interested in art and video games since a very young age, with both being hobbies that took up most of her time. In 2016 she started pursuing education in Games Art and Design at college where she honed skills in Games Design and concept art, being encouraged by tutors to apply for and eventually become a finalist in the BAFTA Young Games Designers competition in 2017. From this she successfully entered the University of Hertfordshire for 3D Games Art and Design and eventually changed her specialism from conceptual art to organic modelling as she mastered 3D software.

Keelin said: “When I received the email confirming I had been awarded the BAFTA scholarship I was so shocked I almost didn’t believe it. I thought being accepted to my dream course would be the most incredible thing that would happen to me, but this blew that out of the water. Having your work analysed during this procedure and eventually recognised as being good, especially from an institution like BAFTA, is particularly invaluable to me. The financial help is life changing but I am also incredibly excited about the mentorship. The help and constructive criticism I will receive will improve my work so much and being able to learn more about what I am doing and the industry I want to enter is invaluable.”'
