Iqra Saeed | BAFTA Scholar

Iqra Saeed is awarded the BAFTA Scholarship to support an MA in Broadcast Journalism at Cardiff University. Iqra is of Pakistani heritage, has Spina Bifida and was born in East London.

I never thought someone like me who is care experienced would get to do something like this. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity as it will allow me to get closer to becoming a journalist.

Iqra studied Multimedia Journalism for her undergraduate degree. She graduated in 2020, during the COVID pandemic. She has previously sat on a fostering panel for TACT (The Adolescent and Children's Trust).  Last year she was a writer for a theatre production company in Peterborough and this year she is looking forward to learning more whilst completing her MA.
