Iain Henderson | BAFTA Reuben Scholarship

Iain Henderson | BAFTA Reuben Scholarship

Iain Henderson was born in Oxford and grew up around Warwickshire. They are awarded the BAFTA Reuben Scholarship in support of an MSc in Music and Sound for Film and Games at the University of Hertfordshire.

Being awarded a BAFTA Scholarship is truly surreal, I keep finding myself re-reading the email to make sure I didn’t imagine it! It is truly, incredibly validating to be recognised in this way by an institution as prestigious as BAFTA at this stage in my career, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. The financial support will allow me to pursue industry work alongside my studies without the same pressure, and the opportunity to learn from a mentor at this developmental stage will be absolutely invaluable. I am so excited to begin my studies and get involved with the Academy!

Gaming has always been a part of Iain’s life, both for their entertainment value as well as the opportunity they provide to strengthen relationships with family, friends, and new people alike. Having long pursued music through playing and recording bass, guitar and vocals, Iain decided to follow this passion to Manchester in 2017 to study a BA in Music Production at BIMM. Alongside their degree, Iain continued to create, achieving six Music airplay and international blog coverage for their solo project, wood ewe. Building upon the foundations in sound and music for film and games offered by their first degree, as well as a number of freelance opportunities in various sectors of the games industry, Iain is invigorated to be taking the next steps in their career through studying at the University of Hertfordshire.
