Julia Maddox is a screenwriter/director pursuing her MFA in Fiction Filmmaking at City College of New York. Her feature script, The Coward of Hickory County was a finalist in the 2021 Atlanta Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and was also a semifinalist in the 2021 BlueCat Screenwriting Competition. She is currently preparing to direct her thesis film, A Coalfield Christmas, in her native Kentucky later this year. She lives in Jackson Heights, Queens.
