Alissa, from Lee-On-The-Solent, Hampshire, is awarded the Reuben scholarship of £8,000 to put towards an Intensive 4 Month Hair & Makeup course for Film & TV at Christine Blundell Makeup Academy. Alissa is being mentored by Tanya Lodge.
This opportunity will be invaluable in helping me prepare for my future
Alissa discovered her passion for creativity early in life through drawing and face painting. She currently works as a Glow Guide for BECCA Cosmetics, as well as doing freelance makeup work for weddings and photoshoots. Her love for film, in particular the horror genre, is a constant source of inspiration for the makeup looks she creates. It is her dream to go from being inspired by these films, to being behind the scenes and part of the team who makes them.
Alissa said: “Being awarded a scholarship from BAFTA feels so surreal. To be supported by such an amazing organisation is an honour, and has given me a real confidence boost. This opportunity will be invaluable in helping me prepare for my future and build my career in the film and television industry. I’m so excited for what the next year has in store, and everything I will learn from my mentor and the Christine Blundell Makeup Academy. Thank you BAFTA for believing in me!”
