Ratcatcher (1999) | Lynne Ramsay

Set during the great Glasgow Binmen’s Strike of the mid-1970s, this coming-of-age story follows a young boy’s life on a derelict Glaswegian council estate where killing rats has become a sport for local children.

Director and writer Lynne Ramsay is now one of Scotland’s leading auteur directors. Her films often explore how young people, and those around them, deal with death and the grieving process.
