Nick Naraghi

FIRST YEAR

Nick Naraghi is from Los Angeles, California and he is currently finishing his Senior year at Birmingham Community Charter High School.

It means a lot to me because I know that with the help of the people at BAFTA, I will definitely be able to capitalize on what I learn from the program and the connections I make from it to get me to where I want to be professionally with my career leading forward.

Nick hopes to one day become a Cinematographer, which is a dream he's had since his father gave him a camera as a child and told him to go out and be creative. Since then, he’s clocked in nearly 100 hours on the sets of student short films working with cameras like the DXL2 from Panavision. In addition to his works on set, Nick has been able to maintain a 4.0+ GPA to be a Platinum Honors student at his school.

Starting out doing street photography and learning more and more about how to tell stories through one frame/still, it made me want to tell stories through film and cinema and continue my dreams of doing what I love with a camera for the rest of my life.

When it comes to Nick heroes in the industry, it would be cinematographers Greg Fraiser and Roger Deakins. Their work inspires him while on his own path to becoming a cinematographer, and he hopes to one day be able to great beautiful images on the big screen like them.
