Miguel Rojas

SECOND YEAR

Miguel Rojas is from North Hills, California and is a student at Los Angeles Mission College where he is pursuing a degree in Video Production.

“I applied to the Vance Byrd Mentorship Program in hopes of being able to develop my collaboration and filmmaking skills further. I also think it’s an amazing opportunity and would love to continue working with BAFTA since I had an amazing experience with them when I was an intern.”

It’s Miguel’s dream to work in the film industry, particularly writing and directing his own films in the future. Miguel started dreaming about making films at the age of  5 when he watched The Making of Jurassic Park for the first time, and he has been in love with filmmaking ever since.

Naturally, Miguel views Steven Spielberg as his entertainment hero. Miguel admires the way that Spielberg is able to work with his actors to create captivating performances. Spielberg’s films have had a huge impact on Miguel, in his personal life and in his own films.

“This program is something that I’ve wanted to be a part of ever since I was informed of it at the end of my internship with BAFTA, so getting the chance to be selected for this program has made me even more excited to pursue this career. It really does mean the world to me that I was selected and I am honored to be a part of this program.”
