SECOND YEAR

Ashly Galvan is from Van Nuys, California, and is studying Computer Science at Chapman University. Ashly was awarded a scholarship through her time in a mentoring program with Women in Entertainment.

“It's such a big opportunity to be close to people who can show the ropes and the reality of what the entertainment industry is like. Being able to be so close to it will let me have a better understanding of what might be, hopefully, waiting for me in the future.”

Ashly hopes to one day become a Videogame Programmer or Video Editor. She loves the idea of making an abstract vision for a film or games a tangible reality. 

“Making the envisionment of either a developer or a Director an aesthetically pleasing reality is something that I want to be responsible for and make it come true.”

When it comes to who Ashly looks up to in the industry, that would be Michelle Yeoh. Ashly loves how Michelle Yeoh has proven that women are just as strong, or even stronger than men.
