Fernando González Ortiz

Fernando González Ortiz is a U.S.-based Latino producer, born and raised in Caborca, a town in the Sonoran Desert of Mexico. He graduated from Columbia University's film program with an MFA in creative producing. His passion for technology led him to produce The Lion and the Firebird, one of the first student short films filmed at a Virtual Production LED Volume. The film has been selected in top genre festivals such as Screamfest, Filmquest, and Atlanta Horror Film Festival.

Fernando's other films tackle issues of diversity, identity, and the latine experience. He currently has three other latine films in the festival circuit, including Limpia and 25 Frames. Both have played at film festivals such as Coney Island's Film Festival and Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival.

By day, Fernando is a VFX Coordinator. By night, he continues to develop personal projects. He is a Fulbright Alumni and a CONACYT-Cultura Scholarship recipient.
