Sarah Walker

Sarah is a writer-director who is dedicated to telling fresh stories with iconic female leads for film and television through her production company, Underdog Productions.  

As well as an independent filmmaker, she’s directed many hours of television, making an impact with such series as The Crash (Darlow Smithson Productions/BBC), The Cut (BBC), A Discovery of Witches (Sky One/AMC/Shudder) and I Am Elizabeth Smart (Lifetime USA), the latter nominated for Best TV Movie and Best Actress at The Critics’ Choice Awards in 2018. Other directing credits include Dates (Balloon Productions/Channel 4), Evermore Chronicles (Disney/All 3 Media), Get Even (BBC Studios/Netflix), Waterloo Road (Shed/BBC) and Wolfblood (CBBC). Most recently, she directed the opening two episodes of season two of Warrior Nun (Netflix), a female-led fantasy drama with LGBTQ+ representation. 

Early in her career, she was nominated three years in a row by Broadcast magazine, in both its Best Young Writer and Best Young Director categories, for her short films 420 Seconds of Love (2002), Almost Strangers (2003) and Soul Boy (2004). She was also named as a BAFTA Breakthrough in 2014. 

Sarah is currently writing her first feature film and developing a unique slate of female-led stories.
