VANCE BYRD MENTORSHIP PROGRAM 2021

Dovely was first introduced to BAFTA while she was a student at Washington Prep and was quickly recognized for her positive attitude and talent, both in front of and behind the camera. She has since interned with BAFTA, has completed several filmmaking workshops under our BAFTA Bridge program, and recently received the Access For All Scholarship to help her get started at the University of Southern California, were she is studying at the School of Cinematic Arts. It is Dovely’s dream to become a writer, director, and producer like her hero Ava DuVernay. 

Dovely is being mentored by screenwriter Obiageli Odimegwu.
