Catherine Wignall

SCREENWRITER

THIRD YEAR – LOS ANGELES

Catherine Wignall is a screenwriter and cat lover from Ellesmere, Shropshire. She set out to be a serious writer who wrote about serious things, but has gradually come to accept that she can’t quite bury her wry sense of humour and is perhaps at least a little funny. Catherine has been the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, the Pigott-BAFTA Scholarship, and the Larry Thor Scholarship. She was also a recipient of the Carl David Memorial Fellowship in recognition of her work promoting positive images of LGBTQ life, and was named one of Austin Film Festival’s “Screenwriters to Watch” in 2021. She made her feature debut in March 2020 with the Blumhouse YA horror-comedy CRAWLERS, then followed this with the Brat TV/MGM romcom GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN. Catherine was selected to participate in this year’s Flex Development Lab and currently has multiple projects in development with global production companies.
