Shubham | Writer

Shubham is a writer and actor based in Delhi and Mumbai. A graduate of the Screen Acting course from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, Shubham’s work as a film actor has been showcased at leading international festivals, including Venice and Karlovy Vary.

As a writer, Shubham’s first feature was Eeb Allay Ooo! (2019), which played various festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival 2020, before a theatrical release in India in December 2020. The film won several awards, including the Critics’ Award at the Filmfare Awards 2021 and Best Film at the India Critics’ Choice Awards 2021. Shubham himself was nominated for Best Writing at the Filmfare Awards. It is currently available to view on Netflix and has also been broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK.

Two recent shorts penned by Shubham, Vishanu and War Room, are currently available worldwide on Amazon Prime as part of the anthology series Unpaused (2020) and Unpaused: Naya Safar (2022). Shubham also works in experimental theatre. His last performance, Sorry for the Interruption, a piece co-devised with Delhi-based theatre artist Mallika Taneja, was funded by Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Zurich and performed at various international festivals.
