BAFTA Scotland: Guru Live Online is a virtual festival aimed at helping up-and-coming film, games and tv talent get to the next stage in their career. BAFTA Scotland are running the programme for it's fifth year to offer selected applicants tailored 1-2-1s, CV workshops, and round tables with top industry talent, as well as unlimited access to the full public programme of events. BAFTA Scotland: Guru Live Online will be held virtually from Tuesday 04 - Friday 07 May 2021.

The Guru Live Access Pass is an excellent way to gain connections, and insight into the industry, and to help launch your career.

In 2020 the Guru Live Access Pass moved online which meant my round table meetings were virtual.

I enjoyed my brief time with Sarah Asante, Commissioning Editor, BBC Comedy. As expected, she was very knowledgeable but more than that she was also very compassionate. At the time of our chat, I had an acute case of imposter syndrome which she managed to chip away at with thoughtful advice and gentle encouragement. I really appreciated it.

My meeting with Emma Pike, Head of Drama at Two Brothers was really worthwhile. Emma was lovely and put me in touch with her team at Two Brothers which led to a great follow up meeting.

I would recommend applying for the Guru Live Access Pass because in these uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to find creativity and inspiration wherever you can and connecting with likeminded professionals might just be the push you need to keep powering through this fickle industry.
