Best known for his roles in numerous TV comedies including Human Remains, Marion and Geoff, Gavin & Stacey and The Trip, Rob Brydon is also an enviably successful writer, presenter and producer. On 27 April 2010, he joined Briony Hanson in Nottingham for a live BAFTA interview as part of the Screenlit Festival of Film, TV and Writing.
In school I was the funny one in the class who did impressions and wanted to make people laugh. I fit into that cliche very snugly indeed.
Brydon explains how he carved out a succesful acting career and considers the complexities of television comedy performance. With the comic delivery for which he is renowned he goes on to recount tales of his career - from his never-completed two years at drama school, to a stint working in radio and his eventual ‘lucky break’ into the TV industry.
