The 2007 Video Games Awards saw the first time the Academy's highest honour, the Fellowship, was awarded to an individual from the games industry - the legendary games designer Will Wright. Responsible for gaming classics such as SimCity and The Sims, Wright has been at the forefront of games development for over twenty five years.

Until we have a lot of older people playing games, we're not going to have a lot of themes that appeal to older people, so there's this chicken-and-egg problem.

In the full video, recorded the day after Wright received his fellowship in 2007 and available to watch now on BAFTA Guru, he argues a strong case for the legitimacy of games as an art form and storytelling medium, and addresses the 'generational issues' affecting their reputation.
