Only six of this year’s winners have won a BAFTA before (including Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush):

  • Colleen Atwood wins this year for Costume Design for Alice in Wonderland and has won this category twice before for Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) and Sleepy Hollow (1999)
  • Chris Morris: winner of this year’s Outstanding Debut BAFTA for Four Lions. Chris won the Short Film category for My Wrongs 8245-8249 and 117 (2002)
  • Richard King, winner for Sound for Inception, has won once before at the Film Awards for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003)
  • Roger Deakins, winner for Cinematography for True Grit has won twice before: for No Country for Old Men (2007) and The Man Who Wasn’t There (2001)

This is Chris Corbould’s first win, after six previous nominations in the Special Visual Effects category. He wins for Inception this year. Alexandre Desplat wins the Original Music category for The King’s Speech this year, following four previous nominations.
